WATER SEARCH: A police search boat looking for Arvid Stenzel at Lake Canobolas on Monday. Photo: LUKE SCHUYLERPOLICE are continuing their search for missing 19-year-old German backpacker Arvid Stenzel with specialist divers concentrating on scouring Lake Canobolas.
This is the second day in a row that police divers have searched the large body of water, having spent several hours yesterday using sonar equipment that helps detect and locate submerged objects.
Police will continue to comb the land around the lake, but on their third day of searching their focus has shifted to the body of water.
Mr Stenzel was last seen at around 2am on Sunday morning after telling friends he felt like going for a swim.
Canobolas Local Area Command duty officer Bruce Grassick said over the past two days extensive searches had already been conducted in the land surrounding the lake.
