THERE are around 20,000 eligible voters in the Central Tablelands Local Land Services (LLS) region yet less than 500 have registered to vote as of February 10.
This is not good news considering elections are Feburary 14 (this Friday) and once the election has taken place then those who have not registered to vote will miss out on the option to have a say for the next three years.
With the environment under great stress at the moment a strong leadership team will be needed to make decisions and guide property owners through these hard times.
Very few from the Lithgow region have registered and because the Central Tablelands takes in a large area — and not all the same terrain and climate, it is important to have voters from the area.
To vote you need to be on 10 hectares or more.
Simply go to www.lls.gov.nsw.au and register — your vote could make all the difference for the farming community in the region.
Alister Gordon-Smith and Peter Evans urge farmers to register to vote before February 14 and have their say in Friday’s LLS election
