The Central West Local Land Services is hosting a Drought Support and Advice Workshop in Coonamble on Friday, February 14.
The forum, to be held after the cattle sales, will have a range of speakers talking about drought issues and support in livestock health and nutrition, financial assistance in drought time, biosecurity and emergency response matters, support and help for landholders from the Salvation Army and mental health and wellbeing, including blood pressure and health checks.
Times are getting hard on the land and the workshop will be useful to many people, according to Central West LLS district vet Jillian Kelly.
“It is an extremely stressful time for many farming families, this information afternoon will be relevant to many,” she said.
“It is also an opportunity for farmers and their families to spend a day in town and catch up away from the farm.”
